By adjusting the cam timing, either advancing or retarding, you can shift the peak torque and power output to achieve improved acceleration or enhanced top speed. Installation Instructions:
- Scribe a line on the end of each cam to align with the "IN" line on the OEM cam sprocket.
- Position the APE sprocket assembly with centered bolts in the adjustment slot and snugly secure.
- Scribe a line on the APE adapter to align with the single dot timing mark on the APE sprocket, with bolts centered in slots.
- Remove the stock sprocket from the cam.
- Align and press the APE adapter onto the cam, matching the scribed lines, and secure with red Loctite. Ensure the adapter's end is flush with the cam's end without pressing further.
- Orient the APE sprocket on the APE adapter so the single dot aligns with the scribe mark upon bolting.
Attention to detail during installation ensures optimal performance and safety. Proper support of the cam during sprocket exchange prevents potential damage. Confirm bolt clearance with head casting and cam cover to avoid interference. Recommended cam bolt torque: 22-25 ft. lbs. Avoid overtightening.
